Huge log beams criss cross to create the 2 story high ceiling in the Great
Room that looks out to the mountain peaks beyond. Several seating arrangements
fill this room to insure that this large family can all share in the fun
and creates a cozy atmosphere for guests. A large sectional anchors the
middle of the room and is covered in rust colored chenille with a subtle
Indian tapestry on the seats. Beneath the sectional is a hand knotted
carpet made in Tibet. The massive 23 ft. tall stone fireplace, reaching
the height of the roofline, in the style of "The Great Lodges",
defines this home as a masterpiece among the finest of all homes built
in Mammoth today.

Robin Stater, of Sierra Design Studio, worked with the clients for over
2 years on every detail of finishing including: flooring, paint, stain,
lighting, tile design and all of the furnishings. Custom lighting was
designed, such as the wagon wheel fixture over the dining table and fabricated
by a friend of Robin's, Tony Alvis, who is a blacksmith.
A 10 ft long dining
table with accommodate this family. Hickory style chairs in a dark finish
with Indian style fabric mixed with leather seats.

The kitchen copper
hood was designed by Robin, as was the custom carving on the face of the
hood over the Viking range. The fabrication was done locally. The tile
in the kitchen is by Ann Sacks Tile and it features mountain scenes and
animals with a acorn motif border. Hefty iron light fixtures in the kitchen
keep the scale balanced in the design with the large beams throughout.
Honed marble and travertine
wrap the custom cabinets. Special finishing and distressing by, Chet Baker
and team of artists, including Chantal Hodges.

developed through this project are those that will remain forever and
will also be the fondest memories of all those involved in the creation
